In collaboration with the Cardiff Capital Region Fund, WeGetDesign embarked on an enlightening journey through the AI Enable Programme at Tramshed Tech. This esteemed innovation hub, situated in Cardiff, is renowned for its role in fostering technological growth and nurturing SMEs across Wales. The AI Enable Programme, supported by the UK Government and the Barclays Eagle Labs Ecosystem Partnership Programme, is specifically designed to empower Welsh businesses by providing them with the tools to harness AI effectively.
Backed by substantial support, this initiative ran from April to July 2025, aiming to equip Welsh SMEs with practical AI tools. It demystified AI concepts through structured phases, from foundational knowledge sessions to hands-on pilot projects.

The AI Enable Programme was thoughtfully designed to guide Welsh SMEs through the journey of AI adoption in a structured way.
- Phase 1: Foundation Sessions involved demystifying AI concepts and assessing the AI readiness of participating organizations. This phase was instrumental in setting a strong foundation.

Every week, our team, comprising 3-4 dedicated members, had the privilege of learning from technologist Laura Gemmell. These sessions were invaluable—Laura guided us through adapting JSON formats to make them easily parsable for applications, focusing on database structures. This hands-on approach allowed us to experiment with various testing techniques across different AI models.
Her mentorship was not only about imparting knowledge; it was transformative. We could translate complex PRD documents into actionable UI screenshots by implementing the techniques learned.
